WHY POWER CAUSES BRAIN DAMAGE: What can be done
- a talk by Mr. R. Gopalkrishnan, author and former Director, Tata Sons
on Tuesday, 17th April, 2018, at 5.30 p.m.
The Literary Club of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai cordially invites you to a talk on WHY POWER CAUSES BRAIN DAMAGE: What can be done by Mr. R. Gopalkrishnan, author and former Director, Tata Sons, on Tuesday, 17th April, 2018, at 5.30 p.m. in the Durbar Hall of the Society.
Mr. R. Gopalkrishnan retired a few years ago as Director, Tata Sons. He has authored six books. He is currently a corporate advisor and is actively engaged in both instructional and inspirational speaking. In the course of his talk, he will elaborate on a few thoughts he has on this subject.

During the second half of his professional career as a business leader, he started to wonder whether the rising power of the ascendant leader affects his or her brain. He was not sure why and how. He thus embarked on a process of observation and reflection which provided him with some answers. The process encouraged him to write practical books on human intuition, on self-awareness, on privilege and obligation, and on reconciling multiple perspectives on the same 'reality.'
Finally it was clear to Mr. Gopalkrishnan that power does indeed damage the upcoming leader's brain--but, luckily, only temporarily. In this speech, he hopes to analyse why it happens and what leaders can do about the risk.
