ASM LitClub Talk on “Gardens of Love” by Meera Godbole-Krishnamurthy
on Thursday, 1st November, 2018, at 5.30 p.m.|

The Literary Club of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai cordially invites you to a conversation on "Gardens of Love" written and illustrated by Meera Godbole-Krishnamurthy, on Thursday, 1st November, at 5.30 p.m. in the Durbar Hall of the Society.

This charming set of four interconnected stories follows the lives of the characters as they meander through the historic tombs of the Lodhi Garden in New Delhi, the magnificent ruins of the Roman Forum in Rome, the deliberately designed natural landscape of Central Park in New York City and the topiary oddities of the Hanging Gardens in Mumbai.

A selection of the exquisite pen and ink illustrations which form the narrative will also be on view. Do join us for an evening of conversation about gardens, architecture, relationships, love and a lot more with the author.

Meera Godbole-Krishnamurhty is also the author of "Balancing Act" (2009), a novel that draws unexpected parallels between the practices of architecture and motherhood. She was born in Mumbai and has studied at Oberlin College and Columbia in the US. In 1992, she received a Master's degree in Architecture from the University of Virginia. She has studied writing at Stanford University and University of California, San Diego, among others. She now lives in Mumbai, has taught at colleges and architecture schools and conducts writing workshops. Currently she is Editor-in-Chief of Saffronart. Her next architecture-themed novel is presently in construction.
