 We invite you to the lecture on Friday, December 1, 2023 when the well-known economist and present vice-chancellor of the Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics, Dr Ajit Ranade, will be speaking at The Asiatic Society of Mumbai.

Dr Ranade will deliver the next edition of the Tikekar Memorial Lecture, held by the Dr Aroon Tikekar Centre for Advanced Studies, on the future of Mumbai's economy and related issues. The subject title of his lecture is "Who Moved Mumbai's Economy? Its dynamic evolution and prospects."

Prof. Abhay Pethe, advisor to the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics will be responding to the lecture. The programme will be held in the Durbar Hall of the Society, starting at 5 PM with tea served at 4:30 PM.

The Tikekar Memorial Lecture series is a thought-provoking and idea-generating series of lectures from experts and analysts covering multiple aspects of Mumbai and its metropolitan region. The first lecture in this series was delivered by architect-activist P K Das with architect-planner Ravindra Punde as a discussant and was focused on the need for climate-responsive planning in the city and larger metropolitan region.

I am attaching an invitation to the 33rd Smt. Nabadurga Banerji Endowment Lecture by Dr. Choodamani Nandagopal, Art Historian, UNESCO Fellow & Tagore National Fellow, on “Imagery of Female Messengers Dutikas/Sakhis in Indian Art, Thought and Literature”, on Wednesday, 18th January 2023. The lecture will be held at 5.30 p.m. in the Durbar Hall of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai.
Dr. Saryu Doshi, Eminent Art Historian, will preside at the lecture.
