Asiatic Research Scholarships for the year 2024-25 

Proposals are invited from Research Scholars, Teaching Faculty, and interest scholars for the following fellowships:

  1. Justice K.T. Telang Scholarship inIndology - Rs.48,000/-
  2. INDAL Scholarship inSocial Science - Rs.48,000/-
  3. Asiatic Society’s Scholarships inSocial Science - Rs.50,000/-
  4. Asiatic Society’s Scholarship inLabour Studies – Rs.36,000/-
  5. Gulestan Billimoria Scholarship in the subject relating to the study ofMumbai / Maharashtra – Rs.36,000/-
  6. Pohekar Memorial Scholarship offered to a student pursuing research in any area   concerning Japan –  education, culture, politics, economics, Japanese Buddhism – Rs.8,000/-
  7. Dr. (Smt.) Sheela Raj Memorial Scholarship inHistory - Rs.32,000/-
  8. Smt. Vimal N. Shah Memorial ResearchScholarship in Pali /Buddhist Studies - Rs.40,000/-
  9. Smt. Vimal N. Shah Memorial ResearchScholarship in Media Studies  - Rs.40,000/-
  10. Chief Justice M.C. Chagla DoctoralScholarship in Modern Indian History

(Only those who are pursuing Doctoral research in Modern Indian History can apply for this Scholarship)   - Rs.40,000/-

  1. Smt. Rajani Dandekar Scholarship inHistory of Art: Bombay School –   Rs.45,000/-

 The tenure of the Research Scholarships is for one year (from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025).

 Educational qualification: 

The candidate should have at least registered for PhD. in allied subjects. 

Format of the Proposal:

Introduction, Review of Literature, Scope, Research Methodology and approach, Research problem, Hypothesis statement, Tentative Chapterisation, Primary and secondary sources, and Expected Research findings. 

Last date of submission of proposal:  9th March 2024 (There will be no extension of last date)

Selected candidates will have to go through an interview.
